General Info
All approved events and event attendees are required to follow all local, state, federal, or any other government ordinances regarding COVID-19 safety procedures, social distancing, and best hygiene practices. Event Partners should continually assess, based on current government guidelines, whether to postpone, cancel, or significantly reduce the number of attendees when necessary.
Mandatory: All participants (In-person and Remote) must have a Participant Release Form on file. It is the responsibility of the coach to make sure this occurs. A link to the instructions on how to submit a Participant Release Form is found here: https://events.vex.com/consent/
Remote Skills: On Saturday, 1/23/2021, you need:
- Tool for sizing (VEX measuring tool, measuring tape, etc.)
- A webcam and computer with Zoom capabilities (the webcam will need to be able to show the entire field and must also be able to move around the field after the match ends, if the head referee instructs teams to do so). Teams will likely also need a secondary camera (probably a cell phone) to log-in to Zoom and show some close ups for scoring, etc. RECF guidelines suggest your primary webcam be positioned approximately 7 feet high and 7 feet in front of the field. At a minimum, the camera must show the entire field and the drivers that are controlling the robot within the frame/viewing area of the video. All webcams need to log into the event at least 5 minutes before your time slot.
- A competition-legal VEX robot (please go through the current season's inspection sheet to ensure compliance)
- A full field and game element set (assembled according to game specifications)
- One Competition Switch, Field Controller setup with Tournament Manager, OR an extra V5 Brain to enable and disable the robot for matches.
- Monitor or display showing the field timer
