Saturday (April 23rd) Competition

7:45 am - Doors open.

8:00 to 9:45 am  - Robot Inspection open

8:30 to 9:45 am - Both main fields open for Skills Runs (Local teams are encouraged to do this in the AM)

10:00 am - Opening ceremonies / Driver Information

10:15 am to 12:00 pm - Qualifying matches begin. (4 minute rounds on 2 courts alternating)

12:00 to 1:00pm - Lunch time & BOTH main courts open for Skills runs with out of town teams have first priority in the queue. Lunch is provided for Coaches, Volunteers, and Participants in the school dining hall. Local options exist (several restaurants and fast food chains) for spectators in the Mill Bay town centre.

1:15 to 3:15 pm - Qualifying matches continue

3:15 to 3:45 pm - Alliance partners are picked, Top 12 teams pick partners to advance to playoffs. (NOTE: If less than 24 teams, all teams participate in the playoff)

3:45 to 4:30 pm  - Elimination/Playoff rounds

4:30 pm - Awards ceremony & Closing remarks

5:00 pm  Participants depart. Clean up by Brentwood coaches and teams.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

In case of an incident or circumstance effecting this event, The event organizer will undertake these TWO notification strategies.

1. An advisory describing the situation (e.g. inclement weather) and the action being taken (e.g. event cancellation) will be posted to this RobotEvents event listing under this tab.  

2. The same information will also be e-mailed to all registered team coaches.

Refund and Payment Policies

Refund Policy

Event cancellation

Should the event be cancelled, registration fees will be refunded to all teams in full.  As previously mentioned, registration fees musy be paod to the event partner as RECF does not accept payment for events outside of the U.S.

Team cancellation

Registered teams needing to cancel will be eligible for a full refund if notification of cancellation is submitted prior to freezing (publication of) the qualification match schedule on competition day. Refund terms are as above. Full refunds (or event credits) for teams that have paid by cash or cheque.

Health and Safety Policies

We will follow all Health Department guidelines in place on the date of the event.

Travel Time

Address: Brentwood College School, 2735 Mount Baker Road, Mill Bay, BC, V0R 2P1

Travel Time is approximately 15 minutes from Shawnigan Lake, 40 minutes from Victoria, 1.25 hours from Saltspring Island (including ferry), and 2 hours from Comox. The tournament Start and End times have been adjusted so islanders can get to and from the event in one day without too early a rise, and to align with ferries to/from the Gulf Islands.
