Welcome to 2023-2024 VEX V5 Taiwan Skills Challenge

This event is open for High School and Middle School teams and will offer Skills challenges. 
Tournament will take place in the gym of The American School in Taichung.

Team Payment
Teams must be paid two weeks prior to the event. Teams not paid at this time may be dropped at the event partner's discretion to allow teams in from the waitlist.  Refunds are not typically offered, but if you have a special case, please just let us know and we will see what we can do.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

In the case of bad weather conditions or possible cancellations, please visit the event on Robotevents.com where updates about the event status will be posted as needed. Event Partners will also make every effort to reach teams directly in case of an emergency. Make sure your team contact information is up to date in your robotevents.com account, as this is the information that will be used to contact your team. Teams should make sure their contact information in Robotevents.com is up to date and includes both school and non-school phone numbers.

Refund and Payment Policies

If the event sponsor cancels the event: 

Refunds are made at the discretion of the event partner and only if there are extenuating circumstances.

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend:

Refunds are made at the discretion of the event partner and only if there are extenuating circumstances. Teams requesting a refund must do so by February 5th. No shows will not be refunded. Refunds that are granted will not include the $5 registration fee charged by Robot Events. A refund, if approved will be processed within one month of the tournament date. This policy is in place because the event partner has fixed costs that they are responsible for.

 

Judging Format

Please review the following Judging Format options and keep the ones that apply to your event, and delete the others that do not apply.

  • No Judging
  • All In-Person Judging - The Team Interviews and Engineering Notebooks will be judged in-person the day of the event. Teams should bring a physical copy of their notebook to submit to the judges.
  •  All Remote Judging - The Initial Team Interviews will be conducted remotely, and Engineering Notebooks will be submitted to judges digitally via a link found within the "My Account" panel of the team contact.  Initial Interviews and Notebook submission deadlines may be scheduled ahead of the event date.
  • Remote Initial Team Interviews / In-Person Engineering Notebooks: Initial Team Interviews will be conducted remotely, possibly before the date of the event. Engineering Notebooks will still be submitted in person the day of the event to be evaluated by judges.
  •  Digital Engineering Notebook Submissions / In Person Team Interviews: Team interviews will be conducted in-person at the event. Engineering notebooks will be submitted digitally for evaluation  via a link found within the "My Account" panel of the team contact. A submission deadline that may be scheduled ahead of the event date.
