General Info
ADSB Robotics welcomes teams to Sault Ste. Marie for the 2026–27 VEX V5 Robotics Competition: Override.
Our event brings students together to demonstrate their engineering, programming, teamwork, and problem-solving skills, while connecting with other robotics teams from across Northern Ontario.
Planned dates: Friday, December 11 and Saturday, December 12, 2026
Venue: Boreal French Immersion Public School, 232 Northern Avenue East, Sault Ste. Marie, ON
Please note: Judging interviews may begin Friday evening and will continue Saturday.
Teams arriving Saturday morning will have an opportunity to complete their interview. A judging schedule and arrival instructions will be shared closer to the event.
Friday evening will provide time for team arrival, pit setup, and robot inspections. The main competition will take place Saturday.

Volunteer
We welcome volunteers to help with judging, refereeing, inspections, team check-in, queuing, field reset, and event support.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy
If severe weather or another emergency affects the event, it may be delayed, postponed, or cancelled. Registered team contacts will be notified by email, and this event page will be updated.
Please keep your contact information current in VEX Events and check for updates before travelling. Teams must follow their school or organization’s travel decisions and notify the Event Partner promptly if they cannot attend.
Refund and Payment Policies
Payment Information
The registration fee is CAD $100 per team. Payment is due by Friday, December 4, 2026.
Payment can be made by cheque or through an online payment link once available.

Please include your team number with your payment. If paying for multiple teams, include all team numbers.
If your school requires additional processing time, contact the Event Partner before the payment deadline.
If the Event Partner cancels the event:
The event registration fee will be refunded if the event is cancelled without a replacement date. If the event is rescheduled, teams unable to attend the new date may request a refund. Registered team contacts will be notified by email.
If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend:
Please notify the Event Partner as soon as possible. Withdrawal requests received on or before December 4, 2026 will be eligible for a refund.
After that date, refunds will generally not be available because event expenses will have been committed. Requests arising from severe weather, school-directed travel cancellations, or other exceptional circumstances will be considered individually. Teams that do not attend without notifying the Event Partner will not receive a refund.
Health and Safety Policies
All participants must follow applicable school-board and venue health and safety requirements, competition safety rules, and instructions from event staff.
Teams are responsible for supervising their participants. Please report injuries or safety concerns to event staff promptly and contact the Event Partner in advance regarding accessibility or accommodation needs.

Judging Format
Digital Engineering Notebook Submissions / In-Person Team Interviews
Team interviews will be conducted in person at the event. Interviews may begin Friday evening and will continue Saturday. Teams arriving Saturday morning will have an opportunity to complete their interview.
Engineering Notebooks will be submitted digitally for evaluation through the link in the team contact’s “My Account” panel in VEX Events.
Notebook submission deadline: Tuesday, December 8, 2026
