General Info
Welcome to the Orimattila VEX V5 Robotics Competition 2026!
We are excited to welcome VEX V5 teams to Orimattila, Finland, for a day full of robotics, teamwork and competition!
Our main goal is simple: to give teams as much time on the competition field as possible.
This event will not include Judging. Instead, we want teams to focus on what they love most – competing, testing their robots, developing their strategies and gaining valuable match experience. Robot Skills will also be available as an optional part of the event on a dedicated Skills field throughout the competition day.
We are aiming to provide every team with as many qualification matches as possible, while also giving teams plenty of opportunities to complete Robot Skills runs if they wish, followed by the elimination rounds.
More Than Just a Competition
The V5 competition is part of a bigger Robotics Week in Orimattila, running from Tuesday, November 24th to Saturday, November 28th.
Throughout the week, we are planning different robotics demonstrations, hands-on workshops and opportunities to explore robotics technology and education.
The V5 competition on Friday will be followed by our international VEX IQ Robotics Competition on Saturday, November 28th. With V5 on Friday and VEX IQ on Saturday, Orimattila will become a meeting point for the VEX community for an entire weekend – two competition days, two VEX platforms and teams from Finland and abroad.
During the competition days, there will also be different demonstration points and activities where students, teachers and visitors can explore robotics and technology beyond the competition field.
Our goal is to create a week where competition, learning, technology and international cooperation come together.
International Teams
International teams are warmly welcome!
Orimattila is located in Southern Finland, approximately 20 km from Lahti. The region has good transport connections, and Helsinki Airport is also within easy reach for teams travelling from other European countries.
If you are travelling from abroad, please feel free to contact us. We are happy to help with information about travel, accommodation and other practical arrangements.
Competition
The main focus of the event will be on matches and giving teams as much competition experience as possible.
There will be no judging at this event. Robot Skills will be available as an optional part of the event on a dedicated Skills field, allowing teams to complete their Skills runs without reducing the number of competition matches.
By keeping the programme focused and flexible, we want to give teams plenty of opportunities to compete, test their robots, refine their strategies and make adjustments throughout the day.
Teams should make sure that their robot is ready for inspection and that they are familiar with the current VEX V5 Robotics Competition game rules before arriving at the event.
Please check the Agenda page for the preliminary schedule. The final event schedule will be published on November 13th, 2026.
