About the Team
Team 7862K is comprised of two team members, Laura and Ally. We are both seniors, and have worked together as robotics team members for all four years of high school. Although we collaborate on every aspect of robotics, Laura is the main designer and programmer, while Ally builds and writes in the Engineering Notebook. We are proud to be a small, all-female team that has excelled at building and competing for the past four years, most recently we won the Build Award at the 2019 CREATE US OPEN.
About this Season
Our team has competed at seven tournaments this season, both in and away from our home state. A significant milestone for our team and school was beating the previous record for the most trophies won during a high school career. Along with winning several Excellence and Design Awards, we also won the Build Award at the 2019 CREATE US OPEN, which was incredibly significant since it was the first trophy won on a national level for any robotics team from Kansas. Our school hosted two tournaments this year, one of which being the state tournament, and we have gone to several schools just starting the VEX program to help ensure that their first tournament ran smoothly.
About Team Sponsor
Our main sponsor is Trevor Foreman, he is an amazing influence on all Hesston teams. Mr. Foreman has a hands off / do it yourself teaching style that allows us students to develop real world problem-solving skills. The success of all Hesston Robotics teams is attributed to Mr. Foreman's dedication to the robotics program, he has even helped get other Kansas schools involved.
