About the Team

We are a 5-person team from Seaquam Robotics, composed of Alex Chen, Brandon Woo, Jinay Patel, Mehtaab Makkar, and Kartik Kapur. This will be our 4th year together as a team, and we're confident on our abilities to continue our competitive success following our performance at Worlds last year. In our previous seasons, we've learned valuable lessons like efficient plastic use to lighten weight and using CAD to figure out more complex robot geometry. This year, we're hoping to continue the curiosity and innovation that led to our perfect 10-0 qualifications record at the Mecha Mayhem Signature Event and winning the Design Award at BC Provincials last year with a unique scoring mechanism, and improve upon it with this season's robot's capabilities. We're also looking forward to extending our community impact by helping out and mentoring our program's junior teams about what we've learned.

About this Season

We've noticed many things from our early season perspective, but the most impactful is that the field is exceptionally clear and free of many obstacles this year. Therefore, we've built our first robot to take advantage of that with a high-speed drivetrain and distance sensors on each side for constantly accurate position calculations in the autonomous period. Our goals this year are to go even further than we did last year competitively, whether that be at Locals, Provincials, Signature Events, or at Worlds once again. We anticipate that it's going to be a challenging season as always, but our ambition and passion for robotics is what pulls us together as a team.
