About the Team

We are Jelopesis, 9181J. This is the third season that we have competed in. The majority of us have 1.5 years of experience, and we've made it to the regional championship every year we've been together. We don't want to know anything except success. First, we have our driver, AV Hundal. AV takes the battlefield during tournaments and matches to bring our robot to its full potential. Without his driving skills and quick thinking during matches, our team would not be in the good place that it is now. Next, we have our main designer and builder, Jordan Lin. Jordan works countless hours on Autodesk Fusion 360 to design robots and works countless hours in the shop to ensure our robot is of the highest caliber. He's the brawn of the building team. If not for him, this team would fall apart. Third, we have Ethan Santos. Ethan's like Jordan's assistant - He does everything that Jordan does. When Jordan calls, Ethan replies. They’re like the ultimate duo, Batman and Robin Hood - When darkness falls, these two will save the day. Jordan can’t do something? Ethan will try with his fine-motor skills. Jordan needs help with a design? Ethan will sign right up. The robot needs to be tuned? Ethan will be there. Just ring the bell. Now that we’re past the halfway point, it’s time to introduce Jamie Kwee. When our team started, Jamie was quite ill - But after a healthy recovery, he’s back. And he’s thirsty for revenge. Jamie will do everything in his power to help improve the robot. Even when he has other work to do, Jamie will come to shop and work on the robot. Second to last, we have Simon Luo, a coder. Simon has been in robotics the longest out of our six team members, but he’s the newest to the team. We know Simon has joined the team to win, and we’ve brought him in to help us do so. There’s not a lot that we know about what he can do yet, but what we do know is that he’s a workhorse. Give him a task, and he won’t quit until he’s fixed it. Finally, saving the best for last, we have Ethan Lin, our captain. Ethan codes. Ethan plans. Ethan keeps us on schedule. Without him, we’d be like a robot without screws. In between applying for university and getting straight 100s in school, he’s at shop working on autonomous skills and match codes. He finds errors in the code and improves it to make driving silky smooth for AV. We are 9181J. And this year, we have one goal: Make the 2026 VEX Robotics World Championship.

About this Season

This season is a big one for us. After this season, Ethan Lin will have graduated. Simon, AV, and Jordan will have grade 12 IB. That means we want to put as much as we can into this year. This year, we’re putting all our chips in. This is 9181J, signing out.
