About the Team

BridgeBotX is a team of 7th and 8th graders from Pittsburgh, PA, who attend Marshall Middle School. We enjoy building, solving problems, and learning new things. This season, we worked together to design, build, code, and improve our robot, while documenting everything in our engineering notebook. Each member of our team has different strengths, but we collaborate on decisions and support each other when challenges come up. In our notebook, we track what we test, what doesn’t work, and the changes we make so we can learn from our mistakes.

About this Season

At the beginning, our robot was very basic and small, but we improved it step by step over time. Whenever something went wrong, we treated it as an opportunity to learn and make the robot better. We made several upgrades, including improving our drivetrain for smoother movement, redesigning our claw to grip pins more effectively, and adding aligners to make stacking easier. We also focus a lot on practice so we can reduce mistakes and use our time efficiently during matches, which has helped us achieve higher scores in both skills and teamwork. Now, as we prepare for Worlds, we are focusing on practicing even more. We are working to improve our driving and make our autonomous code more consistent so we can score more points.
