About the Team

Our team Consists of four talented young men who all have big ideas and dreams for their futures. We all work great together and have been working together for a year or more. We all enjoy VEX labs and other fun things related to Robotics and Engineering. Our team includes four members, Dominic, Caleb, Ryan, and Rayce. We have worked very hard for the past few months and have a good successful robot called Rise-up. Let us tell you about all of our teammates and work we have been doing to get prepared for VEX worlds 2024. Our Captain of our team is Dominic he has a lot of experience with building and competition and Robotics is by far his favorite class. In his free time, he enjoys building, playing games and Off-Roading in his new Razor. He is so excited for VEX and the future for robotics in his career. Our Co-Captain/Main driver Caleb Blackner has been in Robotics for 2 years and he has a lot of experience with Robotics and competition in General. He is very competitive and does not like to lose. In his free time, he really enjoys video games, and playing sports. Our third driver Ryan Salisbury has been in Robotics for a year and a half and is very friendly and wrestles in his free time. He is very competitive but is still a great team player.

About this Season

VMS robotics & engineering classes are really fun and we recommend that future falcon engineers take Mr. G's engineering elective. This season everyone on the team has worked very hard to put together a fully functional and amazing robot. We have all collaborated to fix problems, build codes, and practice driving skills with the robot. We are all really good friends and we sometimes hang out outside of school. This season our team has made about 3 different prototypes with our full volume bot. At first we started out with the normal fling, then we found numerous problems with that design. From there we modified the first prototype to make it better. Then we all realized it wouldn't have a chance in competition. That is when we all started to research different ideas for the bot. That is where we got the idea for a robot with the flywheel. The flywheel we made is pretty consistant and it has a really good chance for competition and competing against others. This season we competed in the Idaho state competition, we got first place and won the teamwork award. We got the invitation to vex worlds and we are preparing to go to worlds. During the competiton we made a small sheet showing where we would drive, and shows where the other person was. During the finals we got paried up with the team Technic, we worked together with them and got first place in the Idaho state competition.
