About the Team

The FireHawks is a middle school team of 7th and 8th graders from Petal, Mississippi. Members: Allen, Ava, Claire, Hugh. This will be Allen's 2nd time going to Worlds, Hugh's 3rd time going to Worlds, and Ava and Claire's 1st time going to Worlds. We can't wait!

We are currently ranked 1st in the state with Skills and are the 2025 Excellence Award recipient and 2025 Skills Champion for our state.

About Team Sponsor

Our sponsor, Christy Sheffield, is a 7th-8th grade STEM teacher and 8th grade Science teacher at Petal Middle School. She is a National Board Certified Teacher and a National Geographic Certified Educator. She is the chair of the Science Department and has been coaching Robotics for 2 years.
