2094: Clarification on external impacts on matchplay and replays.

<T7>

Hello!

This morning we had an event and also experienced an earthquake in our state. Currently as per T7, the only grounds for a replay are

Score Affecting "Field fault" issues (Switches not being reset before the Match starts / Field Elements detaching or moving beyond normal tolerances not as a result of Robot interactions) Score Affecting Game Rule issues (A field is reset before the score is determined)

Our interesting experience this morning does raise the question: In the event of external forces such as minor earthquakes impacting scores and moving non-field elements out of tolerance (like a switch, which is meant to be scored/toggled) should a match be replayed?

Cheers,

T7

We're happy to point out that the list in <T7> only represents "some examples" (quoted from the game manual) that may warrant a replay.

In any situation where the Head Referee and the Event Partner agree that a replay is warranted, it's within their discretion to grant one "in the most extreme circumstances."

Non-gameplay issues like fire alarms---and earthquakes!---that have a negative impact on Matches could reasonably be called extreme circumstances, and replays would be entirely reasonable.
