Volunteer

We greatly appreciate awesome volunteers! Contact Dr. Profio ([email protected]) if you are interested in volunteering. This is a great opportunity for high school students seeking volunteer hours. We also need STEM professionals (e.g. engineers) to help judge team notebooks.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

In the event of bad weather, the event may be postponed. All coaches will be updated as soon as any changes happen. Unless informed otherwise, the event remains scheduled as planned.

Refund and Payment Policies

It is expected that teams utilize the RobotEvents system to handle event payments prior to attending the event.  In all cases, each registration contains a $5 RobotEvents processing fee that is non-refundable.

If the Event Partner cancels the event:

Refunds will only be issued if the tournament is canceled and not rescheduled.

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend:

Withdrawals after registration will not receive a refund.

No refunds will be provided for registered teams that do not withdraw in advance and then do not attend on the event day.

Event Info

Thank you for registering for the VRC/V5 Push Back event on Saturday, Dec 13, at LAMP High School. Here is some important information.

Please contact Joe Profio at LAMP if you have any questions.

Notes:

  1. Directions to LAMP are now available on robotevents.com and have been emailed to coaches.
  2. The event will be held in the LAMP gym. You may drop off in front of the gym doors, but we ask that you park in the nearby parking lot.
  3. On arrival:
    • Teams should check in at the Concession stand.
    • Turn your Engineering notebook in at the Concession stand. Judging is hard-copy only.
    • Teams and spectators are encouraged to pre-order lunch (discussed below) at the Concession before 9 am. Lunches not pre-ordered will be first-come, first-served until sold out.
    • Teams should find their pit tables and prepare for the compliance inspection
    • Teams should check that their robot brain name has the correct team number. The SMART field controllers require this. Ask at the compliance inspection if you need assistance.
  4. Lunch: Teams and spectators are encouraged to pre-order lunch on arrival. Each $7 combo will consist of
  • 2 slices of pizza (cheese, pepperoni, or one of each)
  • A drink (water or soda)
  • An individual bag of chips.

Please let your teams and spectators know that lunch and snacks are cash-only.

     5. Standard snack items may be purchased from the concessions stand at any time during the competition.

      6. Getting teams to queue on time for upcoming matches is frequently a problem. Queueing and being ready for a match on time is a team responsibility. We will try to assist the process, but we expect teams to be attentive and to queue when their match is next up on a field. It will be the Head Ref’s discretion to begin a match when a team has not queued properly. Remember, when reading match schedules, keep up with the match number, not the estimated match time.
